focus to the business. Essential duties and Responsibilities:
Manage databases that detail transport activities, finances,
employee schedules, and personnel records Maintain updated records
such as driver information, driver logs, and customers and sales
complaints. Provide leadership to build strong relationships with
professional drivers. Review daily paperwork for drivers such as
DVIR, Invoices, Fuel and Hotel Receipts. Provide the most efficient
method when scheduling routes to consolidate capacity to provide
effective service Act as mediate between sales, drivers, and
customers resolving delivery problems or special deliveries
Responsible for immediately addressing any discrepancy reports from
accounting to the designated driver Responsible for the issuance
and review of all driver vehicle pre- and post-trip inspection
reports on a daily basis to include the proper storage of said
reports for audit purposes Serve as the primary trainer for
drivers: new hire trainings, refreshers trainings, and remedial
trainings. Availability to visit customer locations. Responsible
for providing the vehicle inspection reports to the warehouse
manager, highlighting any mechanical or safety issues which would
prevent the transportation equipment from being utilized and not
limited to restrictions on said equipment usage Responsible for the
issuance and review of the driver’s daily log book records for
those drivers who travel 150 miles or more from the Atlanta home
base. Also responsible for proper storage of said documents for
audit purposes Responsible for coordinating and conducting periodic
driver meetings and assigning the routes to the drivers and
checking their routes; it is also important to be mindful of the
driver’s input of delivery appointments and other external
requirements Responsible for all driver phone calls and delivery
issues Responsible for the routing of all trucks always keeping the
highest and most efficient and economical way possible in mind
(must have geographical consideration) Daily multiple communication
with the warehouse manager and drivers are required Availability
100% of the time on the phone Adherence to a daily schedule at the
discretion of the warehouse manager Periodic communication with
fleet service providers and yard jockeys; hold them accountable to
expectations Manage fleet rentals while monitoring fuel usage and
reporting. Ownership for fleet care and maintenance, including
delivery MHE; monitor damages and repairs while developing and
executing on performance improvement plans Coordinate PMs and
annual inspections Monitor DOT compliance: HOS violations,
unassigned hours, edit logs as needed and coach drivers Monitor
Samsara to ensure hardware and system setup is always up to date;
Vehicle gateways, asset gateways, and temperature sensor as well as
coordinate adjustments with EHS Specialist Review punches in HCM
system and Samsara time stamps Coordinate with EHS Specialist on DQ
file management activities Participate in the distribution centers’
safety committees Qualifications and Requirements: 2 years of
transportation, logistics, or equivalent work experience, 2 years
of experience in an operational transportation or similar industry
role desired CDL Class A license is a plus Knowledge of DOT and
OSHA rules and regulations strongly desired Working knowledge of
AS400 systems is a plus Excellent organizational, written, and
verbal communication skills Should have exceptional leadership
skills and directing abilities Strong interpersonal and
motivational capabilities Must understand the safety and legal
procedures for handling goods Develop and execute on performance
