Hematology Navigator RN at Providence Health and Services
summary: The Hematology Navigator RN is an oncology nurse
responsible for guiding patients through cancer care by addressing
their physical, emotional, and social needs while providing
education and support throughout treatment and survivorship. This
role requires oncology experience and relevant nursing
certifications, focusing on patient empowerment and care
coordination. The position offers comprehensive benefits and

patient-centered service. Description The Oncology Nurse Navigator
(ONN) serves as a consistent resource throughout the continuum of
cancer care. This RN is knowledgeable on the multiple treatment
decisions, strong emotions and financial impact of a cancer
diagnosis. The ONN will triage the physical, psychological and
social needs of the patient and significant others, offering
intervention and /or referrals as needed. Primary goals of this
position are to: 1) enable patients with information and education
thus reducing a portion of the stress involved in a cancer
diagnosis, 2) empower the patient to participate in their personal
care process, 3) improve understanding of their decisions and
treatment plans; and 4) complete the treatment though the point of
survivorship planning (when applicable). Providence caregivers are
