Job Description:
Description: Job Summary: The RN participates as a member of the
health care team in delivering quality health care to patients,
which supports Kaiser Permanentes mission, vision and values. The
RN provides a variety of nursing services in person and/or by phone
utilizing the nursing process and leadership skills to address
acute and chronic needs of Health Plan members and other patients
of the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program. They work under the
general direction of the designated supervisor. Essential

to Team Leader and Manager about the job performance of other RNs,

medications as authorized by law and determined by the State Board

Performs triage and telephone advice independently and within scope
of the Oregon and/or Washington Nurse Practice Acts. Maintains a

nursing care provided which demonstrates the application of the
nursing process and complies with departmental and/or
organizational standards. Clinical Competencies: Applies effective

Will support operations at East Interstate, Mt. Talbert Medical
Offices. Basic Qualifications: Experience Minimum two (2) years of
RN experience within the last five (5) years OR successful
completion of the Kaiser Permanente NW Ambulatory RN New
Grad/transition to practice program Minimum three (3) years of
recent (within past five (5) years) Labor and Delivery or
outpatient OBGYN experience in performing Fetal Non-Stress Tests OR
current certification in electronic fetal monitoring (C-EFM) from
the National Certification Corporation (NCC) Education Graduate of
Accredited School of Nursing. High School Diploma or General
Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification,
Registration This job requires credentials from multiple states.
Credentials from the primary work state are required at hire.
Additional Credentials from the secondary work state(s) are
required post hire. Registered Nurse License (Washington) within 6
months of hire OR Compact License: Registered Nurse within 6 months
of hire Registered Nurse License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire
Basic Life Support required at hire Additional Requirements:
Demonstrates clinical nursing and leadership skills. Able to type
20 words per minute. Demonstrates effective interpersonal,
communication and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn
computerized information systems. Demonstrates ability to work
within teams and within a dynamic work environment. Customer
focused. Experienced in oral, SQ, IM, and IV (in locations where
required) medication administration Non-Stress Testing (NST)
competency. Currently competent in venipuncture skills for
locations where required Preferred Qualifications: Previous
experience with population care/case management, triage and advice.
Current or future bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
Minimumfive (5)years ofLabor and Delivery or outpatient OBGYN
experience in performing Fetal Non-Stress Tests Previous L&D
setting experience of three (3) years or greater preferred.
Experience with the use of protocols for rendering advice
preferred. Certification as competent in performing antenatal
testing; including limited ultrasound preferred. Use of electronic
medical record technology preferred. Competent in new insulin
starts preferred. Well versed in care of pregnant diabetic patient
and train in GDM preferred. Notes: Will support operations at
Westside Specialty, East Interstate, Mt. Talbert, Skyline, Salmon
Creek, Longview, and Rockwood Medical Offices Work hours and days
are variable
