urgent care through state-of-the-art technology and unique patient
access tools, such as online registration and appointment
scheduling.We are seeking an experienced progressive and
entrepreneurial Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to
provide Primary Care services within our Gresham location, along
with Urgent Care over flow.The Physician Assistant INC is
responsible for patient care and administrative duties in the
Urgent Care Clinic setting. Under the direction of the Physician
Assistant's Supervising Physician or Designated Agent, provides
medical and surgical services to patients of the Urgent Care
Clinic(s). Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope
of practice as a dependent medical practitioner.
Responsibilities
- Assesses the medical condition of patients by obtaining
appropriate history and performing physical examinations. Provides
additional care including ordering, interpreting and evaluating
diagnostic tests. Assumes ongoing responsibility and coordination
of care for each patient.
- Formulates the medical plan and prognosis based on patient's
condition.
- Consults with physician(s) regarding patient healthcare plans
and treatment, as necessary.
- Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify
and assess the patient's clinical problems and healthcare
needs.
- Performs selected invasive procedures for therapeutic and/or
diagnostic reasons within scope of validated competence.
- Initiates and/or recommends medical drug therapies or other
forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures.
- Complies with medical records policies regarding the complete
and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiates and maintains
required records and legal documents.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Counsels patients, families and significant others about health
and illness, and promotes health maintenance.
- Establishes and documents the healthcare plan and prognosis,
maintaining records of each case that are sufficiently complete for
any physician reviewing them to evaluate the effectiveness of the
plan.
- Initiates drug therapy, taking responsibility for such therapy
when performed before consultation with a physician.
- Participates in local, regional and national continuing medical
education programs and clinical meetings to maintain medical
knowledge base as well as a professional network.
- Documents and bills for services promptly with appropriate
diagnostic and procedure codes.
- Complies with supervisory activities as required by physician
assistant accrediting body.
- Performs other related work as requested and approved by the
supervising physician, site medical director or clinic manager.
Qualifications
Education: Requires Bachelor's degree and successful completion of
a physician assistant program accredited by any of the following
accrediting bodies:
- Committee on Allied Health, Education Accreditation of the
American Medical Association (CAHEA);
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
(CAAHEP);
- Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the
Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).Experience:Requires minimum two years
direct patient management experience in related setting. Requires
knowledge of professional medical practice and care to
provide/evaluate patient care. Requires skill in applying and
modifying the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to
provide ongoing patient care. Must have excellent communication
skills, both verbally and written. Requires proficiency with basic
computer skills, knowledge of acute and chronic disease states,
administration and prescription of medications, and delivering
physical care following a treatment plan.Licensure/Certification:
- Current applicable state licensure to practice as a Physician
Assistant or ability to obtain licensure upon date of hire.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of
Physician's Assistants.
- Current certification dependent upon specific position to
include Basic Life Support (BLS).
