CCC is hiring an Associate Medical Director of Specialty Mental Health Services, PMHNP

The Associate Medical Director (AMD) of Specialty Mental Health Services is responsible for leading all mental health and psychiatric services delivered at Central City Concern, in partnership with their operational dyad-partner, the Senior director of Specialty Mental Health Services and supported by the Chief Medical Officer and Health Services Executive Leader. Specialty Mental Health Services occur across multiple facilities and clinical care teams within the Central City Concern continuum of care. These facilities include CCC's Blackburn Center, Old Town Clinic, Old Town Recovery Center and the Imani and Puentes Culturally Specific programs.

The AMD is a member of the Health Services Leadership Team and will provide leadership and co-create strategic vision surrounding the operation of these mental health services programs and the integration of service delivery across primary care and substance use disorders services within CCC. This will be accomplished by working in close and aligned partnership with the Health Services Leadership Team, Executive Leadership Team and Operational partners within the CCC Health Services Continuum. In addition, the AMD of Mental Health Services will hold governance representation roles supporting clinical quality, safety, clinical and professional standards and support the privileging and credentialing of clinical staff.

The AMD of Specialty Mental Health Services provides leadership and mentoring to the Health Services clinical staff, participates and leads clinical quality and peer review within the Mental Health service-lines and partners with operational and quality team leaders to maintain a posture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety and compliance with clinical best-practices and standards defined by payers and regulatory agencies. The AMD of Specialty Mental Health Services also establishes and promotes the professional, clinical, and ethical values and standards of Central City Concern to which all clinical staff are expected to adhere.


Clinical Activity and Leadership:

  • Provides direct patient care five to six half-days per week in a team setting 0.6 FTE Clinical and 0.4 FTE Leadership and administrative duties.
  • Serves as the primary clinical leader for psychiatric providers and other mental health clinical staff at Old Town Recovery Center, Imani and Puentes programs and other service-line identified programs, including availability for brief clinical consultation, provision of clinical teaching, and the modeling of exemplary clinical practice.
  • Participates with Health Services leadership to develop an integrated mental health service-line that will evolve to the clinical supervision and leadership of Licensed Medical Providers (LMP's) and mental Health clinical staff at the Blackburn Center and Old Town Clinic.
  • Support credentialing and privileging process as guided by CCC's HR and Compliance division for all direct reports and service-line specific roles and candidates pursuant to CCC's credentialing and privileging Policy.
    M anagement and Supervision of Licensed Medical Providers providing Mental Health Services:
    • Manages and supervises additional mental health licensed medical providers as service-line integration is achieved resulting in a coordinated LMP team of Psychiatrists and PMHNPs providing Specialty Mental Health services throughout the CCC continuum. Supports staff development, in-service training and performance review.
    • In partnership with the senior Director and the Recruitment Division, ensures the availability of adequate psychiatric staffing. Oversees recruitment, evaluation and retention of all Specialty Mental Health service-line LMP's.
    • In partnership with Health Services leaders supports and ensures Specialty Mental Health service-line LMP's meet clinical productivity targets, while maintaining excellent quality of care and appropriate work-life balance.
      Assurance of Quality and Safety of Clinical Care
      • Support, in partnership with the Senior Director and the CMO
      • The development and authorization of all psychiatric practice guidelines, policies and protocols for Central City Concern.
      • The development of and ongoing improvements OTRC's Electronic Medical Record.
      • Support and lead the implementation of clinical evidence-based practices and best practices.
      • Support guidelines for safe and effective prescribing practices for the Mental Health Service line and serves in support of all service-lines for CCC's Health Services.
        • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) licensed to practice in The State of Oregon.
        • Must have full prescriptive powers in Oregon with a DEA number.
        • Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
        • Minimum five years' experience in providing psychiatric care for individuals with serious mental illness.
        • Minimum two years' experience supervising and consulting in a psychiatric clinic setting.
        • Current CPR certification
        • Will be required to carry an agency cell phone for work use. Cell phone will be provided by Central City Concern.
        • Must possess a current driver's license, access to a vehicle, qualify as an Acceptable Driver as designated in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety policy. Must pass an initial drivers training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training. Must maintain vehicle insurance coverage of a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 personal auto liability coverage.
        • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB Test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
